CONFERENCE VENUE

The Conference will be held at Griffith University which is located 10 minutes North-West of Surfers Paradise.

Getting There

Griffith University is easily accessible via car, train and has it's own tram station along the Gold Coast's light rail system. The Gala Dinner will be held at Crowne Plaza Surfer Paradise which also has a tram station right outside.

Public Transport

The Gold Coast has a fully integrated public transport network which includes the G:link trams, Surfside Buslines and Queensland Rail.

The G: light rail system, which both Griffith University and Crowne Plaza (our venues) are located on, operate from 5am to midnight on weekdays and 24 hours on weekends. The route links Helensvale, Gold Coast University Hospital, Southport, Main Beach, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach with a 7.5 minute service between 7am and 7pm weekdays.

If you want to explore South East Queensland, you can purchase a Go Card, or a Gold Coast Go Explore Card. This day pass costs only $10 for adults and $5 for children aged 5 – 14. Children under 5 travels for free. Go Card allows you to travel on all TransLink buses, trains and ferry services. We would recommend getting a regular Go Card, if just travelling to and from the venues or smaller trips around the Gold Coast. Otherwise the Go Explore Card is quite good value. Both cards can be purchased at the airport or at 7-11’s, ‘Translink’ Kiosk’s, various hotels and other selected locations.

From Airport to Surfers Paradise

Routes 777 and 760 depart from the airport with various stops:

  • Route 777 is a limited stop service, taking you to Broadbeach South tram station, where you can transfer on platform to the G:link for Surfers Paradise, Southport or other bus routes. Route 777 runs every 15 minutes from 7:00am to 7:00pm, seven days a week. This is the best overall way to get to your accommodation. Will take approximately 40 minutes to Surfers Paradise, for the cheapest price.
  • Gold Coast Airport Shuttle ‘SkyBus’ provides Gold Coast airport transfers between Gold Coast Airport and over 400 hotels along the Gold Coast – from just $15 one way with free wifi. This way is quicker and includes wifi, but costs more.
